Can Total Productive Management (TPM) be applied to the agricultural area? Of course it can! On the following video, our coworkers from Suaza share how they've applied it at the agave fields. With TPM, all of Sauza's coworkers grow at a personal level. It is based on this personal growth that our people strengthen themselves and thus, are able to constantly improve the production tequila. This is how we keep our innovation tradition alive.

Casa Sauza, First Company in the World to Apply TPM in the Agricultural Area

Casa Sauza is the first company of the world to apply Total Productive Management (TPM) in the agricultural area. Since in my previous blogs I've already talked about the experiences that we've had while moving forward on each stage of the implementation of the TPM methodology, in this blog I want to talk about the outcome and the results that we achieved in the final audit in order to receive the TPM Excellence Award, category A, given by the JIPM.

Since the year 1990, different training courses started in Casa Sauza wanting to achieve a total-quality. That was a year of constant coaching and training among the workforce when we developed an improved system in several production areas.

In the more of 15 years that I've been working in this company, I've gone through a lot of systems and methodologies implementations, always focusing in making the production processes more efficient, improving the product's quality, costs and delivery times. But these systems didn't come alone, they included a big number of formats, register documents, and manuals that overwhelmed our employees because they had long working periods and this affected their quality of life for not having an automatic system that would have allowed us to optimize times and schedules.

Since 2014, the subject of agriculture took up the challenge to implement the TPM methodology on its field activities. The main goal was to eliminate production losses due to the equipment state, and maintaining them in the best possible way to keep producing high-quality products at its maximum capacity.
