Equipment Installation – Internal or external personnel?

Today, we have the knowledge and the ability to install new equipment in the plant. Our technicians have the capacity and the skill to carry out the development of new projects for the installation of new, innovative equipment.

The dismantling and assembly of equipment was previously done by external personnel. Today, it is carried out with personnel from Casa Sauza. Since time is a very important factor, the installation of plant equipment is now shorter which saves the company a considerable amount of money.

Technology customization with the manufacturer

One of Casa Sauza’s greatest successes regarding the acquisition of new equipment is the work that has been done with the manufacturer for the advancement of technologies in the tequila industry.

This gives us many advantages. Our technicians go to the manufacturer's plant to learn about the assembly of the equipment. At this stage, the equipment manufacturer discusses our needs and production standards with us. This is when we start to customize the equipment.

We test our equipment for potential hazards, based on TPM methodology standards. It enables us to review the first steps of Autonomous Maintenance such as:

• Security and safety systems
• Places of difficult access
• Establishing the first provisional LALI standard
• Performing the first planned maintenance routines

This way the equipment arrives at the plant at step 3, reducing the learning curve and saving time. In addition, we avoid many of the potential problems when starting the equipment, since it was designed to work within the established Casa Sauza processes.

The start-up, running and fine tuning of equipment time is shortened achieving full run-up in less time.
