A Toast to Casa Sauza

July 24th is more than a day of celebration for Mexico; it is a date that pays tribute to one of the country's most iconic and internationally recognized beverages: Tequila.

Amidst this celebration, we encounter the figure of Casa Sauza, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious tequila distilleries. Founded in 1873 by Don Cenobio Sauza, this distinguished house has dedicated centuries to producing the highest quality tequila, honoring tradition while also bringing modernity and innovation to its production process.

Tequila Sauza Tres generaciones three generations

The brands of Casa Sauza stand out for their excellence. Among them is "Tres Generaciones ®," a super-premium tequila that pays homage to the three generations of the Sauza family in charge of the distillery, and "Hornitos ®," renowned for its taste and aroma. Moreover, all our tequilas possess a smooth flavor, maintain agave notes, and uphold Mexican traditions.

The Celebration at Casa Sauza

The International Tequila Day is celebrated extraordinarily at Casa Sauza. This day goes beyond merely celebrating a beverage; it is a tribute to the heritage, tradition, and dedication of creating each tequila bottle.

With its strength and character, Tequila manages to capture the essence and spirit of Mexico, becoming an ambassador of its culture globally. Casa Sauza has played an essential role in this legacy through its different brands, fostering love and respect for Tequila and creating memorable experiences for those who enjoy its products.

This July 24th, and the whole week, we invite you to join the celebration and enjoy the majesty of Tequila. Don't forget to raise a toast with your favorite Casa Sauza tequila and say "cheers!" to this marvelous beverage's history, tradition, and future.

Cultural Heritage: The Agave Landscapes and Ancient Tequila Industrial Facilities

On International Tequila Day, July 24th, we also celebrate the majestic agave landscape and the ancient tequila industrial facilities, as they were inscribed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites under the Cultural and Natural Heritage category in 2006. Situated between the Tequila volcano's foothills and the Rio Grande's deep valley, this place is a living witness to history, culture, and human ingenuity.
The site, covering an area of 34,658 hectares, hosts an extensive landscape of blue agave crops. This millennial plant has been used since the 16th century to produce Tequila and for at least 2,000 years to make fermented beverages and clothing from its textile fibers.
The site includes the agave fields and the urban settlements of Tequila, Arenal, and Amatitlán, among many other places where Tequila is produced. These locations are home to large tequila distilleries where the agave piña is fermented to produce alcohol. It is in this region that Casa Sauza has established its legacy, becoming a key piece in the history of Tequila.

«Our ancestors called the agave the 'tree of wonders' because it provided food, shelter, clothing, and pulque, the nectar of the gods." Don Francisco Javier Sauza. Legend contained in the Hornitos® bottle.

This landscape is also rich in archaeological remains, including terraced crops, dwellings, temples, ceremonial mounds, and ball courts, evidence of the Teuchitlán culture that prevailed in the Tequila region between 200 and 900 AD.
