GREAT-PLACE-TO-WORK-SAUZA-2021-s

As you probably may know, Casa Sauza is considered as a great place to work. Working in this type of environment, especially in procurement, is a true honor. The reason I use this word is because I truly mean it. Why is it an honor you may ask? We know that the workplace can be hectic and stressful at times, it can sometimes feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Working in a great place to work helps alleviate this feeling. How you may ask? For starters, here in procurement we support one another. If an issue arises, we know that we are all in it together and as a group we support each other to find a solution. Many of us overcame these sorts of problems but with experience we can help a coworker resolve their issue. An opposite can also happen. I may have an issue and for some reason I cannot think clearly. I voice my issue and I have the full support of the team to find a solution. You may ask yourself; how can my workplace feel like a great place to work? Below are some tips on how to make your workplace a great place to work.

Support

First you have to keep in mind that you are all in it together. Do not be afraid to support one another.  There is always competition in a workplace for promotions, but a healthy competition goes a long way. Show your support to your teammates and make yourself shine through support.

Recognition

A pat on the back or even saying, “good job” goes a long way. Everyone likes to hear that they are doing a good job, so voice it. It does not necessarily have to be a boss saying that you are a good job. Peer to peer recognition is also a great motivator. It does not necessarily have to be a monetary incentive but recognize the extra effort that everyone puts forth in their day to day activities.

Respect

Respect is very important in a great place to work. Aretha Franklin said it best, “All I'm askin' Is for a little respect.” Treat others the way you would like to be treated. You may not get along with everyone in the workplace, and that is ok, but at least be professional with the ones you may not click. Not only be respectful in terms of language but also time. Time is very important to everyone since sadly, we can never get it back. Respect lunch times, working hours and even home hours. Sometimes things happen and you must make a phone call to someone out of office hours. It can happen sometimes, but do not make it a bad habit. Same thing with meetings, organize meetings during working hours.

These are just a few tips, of the many, that can be implemented to make your workplace feel like a great place to work. I would honestly love it if everyone would feel the same way as I do, working in procurement here, in Sauza.
