Daring to Choose a Tequila for its Quality

This leads me to the following reflection, if the whole universe is constantly evolving, shouldn't these saying evolve as well?

Take the saying "better the devil you know that the one you don't" as an example. Wouldn't it be better is we switched it to: "It's better to dare to know something new, than to stay with the expected". Or maybe: "Better to be impressed by something new than to settle with the known devil".

The point is that, thanks to the current openness in the media and social networks, society in general is experiencing a change in the way of thinking. Borders begin to break and fear of the unknown fades. This is where small businesses begin to grow and those that are already established must be strengthened, since in this new market, competition and challenge are always increasing.

In the case of the tequila industry, there are thousands of options offered to consumers these days. The challenge is to provide these consumers with the highest quality tequila, one that has a particular trait that makes it different from the rest. By doing so, we will not only catch the consumer's attention but they will also maintain their preference towards this specific tequila.

As in any industry, there are companies that base their success in marketing, leaving aside the quality of their products. The tequila industry is not the exception. During the last few years, we, the consumers (yes, I include myself), have let ourselves get carried away by trends. We are influenced by a beautiful bottle, by some TV commercial that shows a famous artist on it, or we simply look for "social status" by consuming an expensive and socially recognized brand. Hence, we do not give ourselves the opportunity to compare the quality between the different products that the many tequila companies have to offer.

As a consumer, I was married to a one and only brand, the one I though was the best option in terms of cost/benefit. I consumed it for many years and my palate got used to a single flavor. Even when I saw other brands in a bar, for some reason I considered them of low quality, especially if I was not familiar with their presentation.

We have been taught to associate price with quality, but this is one of the most common mistakes that we can make when buying a product. The higher the investment made in its marketing and promotion, the higher the cost of the product yet, this does not guarantee its good quality .

I have been working at Casa Sauza for a year now and, to be honest, I didn't know many of its products when I first got here. As a part of my job, I started learning about each and every one of them, about their fruity notes and about the particular production process that is applied in order to make each tequila, which makes us different from the rest of the market.

It was then that I gave myself the chance to try new tequilas. I was surprised to discover great quality tequilas at a very affordable price. I went from just drinking rested tequilas to enjoying more varieties, for instance, white tequila, with all its os it characteristic strength and purity.

I learned that there is no such thing as "the best tequila". In a market where there are brands to satisfy every preference and budget, the best tequila is the one that your palate chooses as such, and not the one that merchandising tells you to like.

My invitation to you is that you give yourself a chance to try the may tequilas that Casa Sauza has to offer and let your palate have the last word.
